ABOUT AHP

Who we are…

AHP is the fulfillment of concerned professionals of Haitian descent to establish an organization addressing professional, educational and cultural, social needs of their community wherever they reside. Our strength is based on the diversity and the commitment of our members.

History

On Oct. 24, 2003, hundreds of Haitian and Haitian-American professionals gathered at the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti to discuss the need for an association to address the concerns of their community. Borne out of that evening’s discussion was the Association of Haitian Professionals (AHP).  Subsequently, on April 16, 2004, AHP was formally incorporated in Washington, DC and officially opened for business.

To date, AHP has hosted and executed a number of events, activities, programs, and projects geared toward enlightening and entertaining its member body and fulfilling their expressed desires. Open general body meetings, toy drives, panel discussions, professional development programs, community service projects, and socials are just a few of the events and activities sponsored by AHP, with many more to come in the future. Activities such as these motivate prospective AHP members to continue working diligently toward building the Association.
