On Oct. 24, 2003, hundreds of Haitian and Haitian-American professionals gathered at the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti to discuss the need for an association to address the concerns of their community. Borne out of that evening’s discussion was the Association of Haitian Professionals (AHP). Subsequently, on April 16 2004, AHP was formally incorporated in Washington, DC and officially opened for business. To date, AHP has hosted and executed a number of events, activities, programs and projects geared toward enlightening and entertaining its member body and fulfilling their expressed desires. Open general body meetings, toy drives, panel discussions, professional development programs, community service projects and socials are just a few of the events/activities sponsored by AHP, with many more to come in the future. Activities such as these motivate prospective AHP members to continue working diligently toward building the Association. AHP’s history is poised to become a celebrated, renowned and triumphant force. Get involved with AHP and be a part of history in the making.
