Section 8.01 Method for Selecting Appointed Officers

During the interim transition period during which the Executive Board-elect is assuming office, the Executive Board-elect shall solicit volunteers to fill the appointed positions listed in Section 6.03B. Members may also volunteer their services for those appointed positions. The Executive Board shall evaluate all potential appointees and obtain a simple majority vote within the Executive Board to make such appointments. An appointed Officer shall not serve in the same office for more than two (2) consecutive terms (as defined below).

Section 8.02 Qualifications of Appointed Officers

An Appointed Officer shall:

  1. Be a member currently in good standing;
  2. Be free from past disciplinary action or probation; and
  3. Qualify as a Voting Member.

Section 8.03 Duties of Appointed Officers

All Officers shall have the authority to perform their respective duties in the management of AHP. Each appointed Officer shall co-coordinate the standing committee assigned to him/her.

A. Parliamentarian. The Parliamentarian shall perform all duties customary to that office in accordance with AHP purposes and objectives, including but not limited to:

  1. Assisting the President in moderating meetings and maintaining organizational protocols;
  2. Ensuring that discussion on topic does not exceed the time allocated for such debate;
  3. Determining the adequate quorum for action and resolutions;
  4. 4. Tallying all votes for resolutions being passed and presenting them to the Secretary for adequate recording; and
  5. 5. Supporting the Secretary in recording the votes and resolutions passed;

B. Communications Officer. The Communications Officer shall perform all duties customary to that office in accordance with AHP purposes and objectives, including but not limited to:

  1. Executing the duties of the Communications Committee;
  2. Rendering reports and accounting to the GB membership and the Executive Board.

C. Membership Officer. The Membership Officer shall perform all duties customary to that office in accordance with AHP purposes and objectives, including but not limited to:

  1. Executing the duties of the Membership Committee;
  2. Rendering reports and accounting to the GB membership and the Executive Board.

D. Fundraising Officer. The Fundraising Officer shall perform all duties customary to that office in accordance with AHP purposes and objectives, including but not limited to:

  1. Executing the duties of the Membership Committee;
  2. Rendering reports and accounting to the GB membership and the Executive Board.
