Section 7.01 Qualifications of Elected Officers

All Elected Officers shall:

  1. Be members in currently good standing;
  2. Be free from past disciplinary action or probation; and
  3. Qualify as General or Honorary General Members.

Section 7.02 Duties of Elected Officers

All Officers shall have the authority to perform their respective duties in the management of AHP.

A. President. The President shall perform all duties customary to that office in accordance with AHP purposes and objectives, including but not limited to:

  1. Presiding over all official meetings of AHP and the Executive Board, unless otherwise designated;
  2. Serving as the representative of AHP;
  3. Soliciting the appointment of Committee Co-coordinator(s) with the advice and consent of the Executive Board; and
  4. Having signatory power with the Treasurer and the Secretary over all AHP financial disbursements.

B. Vice-President. The Vice-President shall perform all duties customary to that office in accordance with AHP purposes and objectives, including but not limited to:

  1. Presiding over all official meetings of AHP and the Executive Board, in the absence or inability of the President;
  2. Supporting the President in his/her function;
  3. Overseeing the activities of the Committees; and
  4. Having signatory power (in the absence of the President), with the Treasurer and the Secretary, over all AHP financial disbursements.

C. Secretary. The Secretary shall perform all duties customary to the office of Secretary in accordance with AHP purposes and objectives, including but not limited to:

  1. Keeping, or causing to be kept, an accurate record of the proceedings of all official meetings of AHP and the Executive Board within seven (7) business days of the applicable meeting;
  2. Providing the minutes to members upon request;
  3. Gathering a record of the activities of all AHP Committees on a periodic basis;
  4. Providing all notices in accordance with these Bylaws or as required by law;
  5. Maintaining custody of AHP corporate seal and affixing the same to any instrument requiring it; and, when so affixed, it may be attested by his/her signature; and
  6. In case of absence, refusal or inability to act, any person whom the Executive Board so directs may perform the duties of the Secretary's office on an ad hoc basis.

It shall be the responsibility of the Secretary to distribute written minutes of each Executive Board meeting and GB meeting within seven (7) business days of the applicable meeting to the Executive Board and file such minutes in the minute book..

D. Treasurer. The Treasurer shall perform all duties customary to the office of Treasurer in accordance with AHP purposes and objectives, including but not limited to:

  1. Maintaining custody of, and being responsible for, all funds and securities of AHP;
  2. Maintaining complete and accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements of AHP;
  3. Depositing all monies and other valuable property of AHP in the name and to the credit of AHP in such banks or depositories as the Executive Board may designate;
  4. Rendering a statement of accounts on a periodic basis or whenever required by the Executive Board or Board of Directors;
  5. Providing the books and accounts, at all reasonable times, to any Officer or member of AHP;
  6. Auditing the book accounts on a periodic basis in a manner prescribed by the Executive Board; and
  7. Having signatory power with the President (or Vice-President), and the Secretary, over all AHP financial disbursements.

E. Public Relations Officer. The Public Relations Officer shall perform all duties customary to the office of Public Relations in accordance with AHP purposes and objectives, including but not limited to:

  1. Executing the duties of the Public Relations Committee; and
  2. Rendering reports and accounting to the GB membership and the Executive Board.

F. Professional Development Officer. The Professional Development Officer shall perform all duties customary to that office in accordance with AHP purposes and objectives, including but not limited to:

  1. Executing the duties of the Professional Development Committee; and
  2. Rendering reports and accounting to the GB membership and the Executive Board.

G. Community Service Officer. The Community Service Officer shall perform all duties customary to that office in accordance with AHP purposes and objectives, including but not limited to:

  1. Executing the duties of the Community Service Committee; and
  2. Rendering reports and accounting to the GB membership and the Executive Board.
